My teaching methodology is always uniquely tailored to the student and focuses on fostering a growth mindset as well as further developing their skills.
A growth mindset teaches children to welcome challenges they may face in their school work, as they believe that these academic challenges can be tackled through hard work. It fosters confidence and self-compassion, which I believe to be the key to academic success.
What to expect from an A-Level, GCSE, and Study Skills Tutoring Session
My tutoring approach is completely tailored to each student’s abilities and interests. My tutoring style is heavily influenced by the research on optimising teaching and learning that I am taught about in my University course and also successful techniques from previous experience with students.
A few examples of what to expect from my tutoring sessions are assistance on how to write an A/A* essay, exam techniques, going over any content that might be challenging, how to answer questions to get the optimal amount of marks, combatting exam anxiety. Together we can also devise a personal exam preparation plan. You will also have access to resources created by myself, including essay plans, exemplar answers, etc.
What to expect from a KS2 Tutoring Session
I aim to make these sessions educational as well as engaging.

A way that I may do this is by playing a fun educational game.
​
For example, for KS2 English students, we may play a game where we pretend to be detectives trying to solve a mystery and find which is the correct spelling.
​
I am also known to convert flashcards into an online computer game that can be a way of memorising new vocabulary as well as it being a bit more fun for the student.
​
I am also open to sending out a short report on what we have been doing in our session and how your child is getting on, so you are always in the know.
​
The typical length of a session is an hour; however, in some cases, it is the most productive for the student to have a shorter session of 30 minutes instead (at a discounted price, of course)
